Carbine Novice
4 hour course
~45min Classroom - 3 hours 15min Range
Our entry level Carbine Novice Course will bring beginner shooters to an intermediate level. We start in the classroom with a refresher on the basics of safety and fundamentals in regards to rifle shooting. After the classroom portion we head out to the range and put the fundamentals into practice. First we focus on the foundation, making sure the shooter’s stance is correct and comfortable and then work our way up to the grip, sight alignment, and recoil mitigation. We then turn to cadence and accuracy drills with a focus on taking things slow; speed is fine, but accuracy is final. After we get you dialed in on your sights, we increase the complexity and attempt to gain multiple target acquisitions in a single string of shots. We end the class with a competitive shooting game amongst the students involving a moving target.
This course is designed to get you familiar with your rifle so that you can deploy it should the need arise as well as to get you prepared for our more advanced classes.
Ammunition Recommended - 100 rounds of .223/ 5.56 or your preferred carbine caliber.
*Note- this class is designed for AR-15 platforms and the like. This is not a precision or bolt rifle class.
